Job title: Payroll Analyst
Job description: If you are a Payroll professional looking for an opportunity to grow, Emerson has an exciting opportunity for you! Based out of our Corporate Canada office in Richmond Hill, Ontario, you will be responsible for administering accurate, efficient and timely payroll for employees across Canada.
AS A PAYROLL ANALYST, YOU WILL:
- Accurately enter, process and balance the weekly and bi-weekly payroll earnings and adjustments for Salaried and Hourly employees
- Process payroll information including but not limited to master file changes, earnings, department, leaves, new hire set up and terminations
- Adjust, update and maintain time and attendance system for weekly union payroll
- Provide a timely response to inquiries from Finance, HR, managers and employees
- Responsible for tracking and reconciling payment of payroll taxes
- Maintain and reconcile benefit plan payments and RRSP/Pension plan contributions
- Prepare all payroll journal entries and assist with account reconciliations
- Workers’ comp reconciliation and payments
- Responsible for processing employee accruals
- Track and reconcile payment of payroll tax remittances
- Responsible for all Year End tax form adjustments and balances and government annual reconciliations
- Provide back up to the Payroll Manager and assist with other duties
- Provide support for project work and other duties as required

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:
- 5 years of hands on experience with full cycle payroll processing
- Post-secondary Education in Accounting, Finance or Human Resources
- General knowledge of Canadian employment law, payroll legislation and accounting principles
- Ability to interpret collective bargaining union agreements
- Experience with and or working knowledge of ADP
- Experience working with multiple Province payroll, in particular Quebec
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word
- Ability to organize and prioritize multiple tasks and consistently meet deadlines
- Ability to handle confidential information with respect and integrity
PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:
- Experience with ADP Pay@work strongly preferred
- Canadian Payroll Association – PCP designation is an asset or working towards designation
