Position Summary: Under the direction of the Manager, Student Financial Services, the Student Financial Services Associate liaises with current and prospective students and guests throughout the academic year to provide a high level of customer service, information and ensure effective and accurate communication. The incumbent’s organizational skills are critical to the timely processing of OSAP applications and supporting the efficient operations of the Student Financial Services department. The incumbent ensures that the integrity of the University is maintained by accurately processing financial services documents including OSAP, awards, and bursaries.

The incumbent acts as a first point-of-contact for financial services related questions. S/he communicates with students in person, over the telephone and via e-mail. The general scope of office support also includes providing administrative support as well as providing general coordination of office activities. The incumbent may also be called upon to represent the University of Guelph-Humber in various recruitment forums on- and off-campus.

Qualifications: The successful candidate will have a three year diploma/degree in business or public relations, along with one year of relevant administrative work experience, preferably in a post-secondary customer service, registration or financial services environment.

In addition, the successful candidate will have excellent written and verbal communication, well-developed interpersonal and listening skills, customer relations, excellent telephone and communications skills (able to relate professionally and respectfully to a wide cross-section of people representing diverse backgrounds), and demonstrated organizational skills; as well as the ability to handle multiple tasks and interruptions. The incumbent will be self-motivated, independent and able to prioritize work with minimal supervision. Proficiency in Windows, MS Office applications/word processing software is required. Experience working with policies and procedures, and the Ontario Student Assistance Program is preferred.
