Post Production Specialist

Role Profile
The incumbent provides operational and technical support for students and faculty in the Faculty of Media and Creative Arts. Working with professors in any/all the electronic media programs, eg. Broadcasting, Film & Television, Journalism, Post Production, etc., the incumbent demonstrates and explains the proper use of Post Production equipment and software as applied to various industry applications. This specialist in media post production acts as a resource for technical, production, workflow and procedure, as it relates to the different programs and associated industries.

The incumbent also maintains equipment and facilities, primarily but not limited to post production suites/stations and all digital media-related equipment.

Other related duties may include reporting on facility usage and materials consumption and advising the Manager and Broadcast Engineer on specific program requirements.

Minimum Qualifications

Education
The successful candidate will possess a 3-year diploma/degree or equivalent in Television or Film Production with emphasis on post production, single camera and studio production.

Experience
The incumbent will have a minimum of 5 years professional experience working in a professional film or broadcast environment, preferably in the capacity of editor or post sound engineer. Working knowledge of all aspects of professional media production, including post production, lighting, DMT, audio, camera and professional media management. Training on post production software, editing systems and peripheral equipment, audio & video recording devices.
