Director, Financial Services
Role Profile
Under the general direction of the Vice President, Administration and CFO, the Director, Financial Services is responsible for the provision of strategic oversight and effective management of financial services functions related to, but not necessarily limited to:
- Financial statements including Ministry reporting;
- Day-to-day operations encompassing following areas:
– Accounts payable;
– Accounts receivable and collections;
– Purchasing services and strategic procurement;
– Investment management, cash management and cash flow forecasting;
– Capital project tracking and forecasting;
– Asset management and forecasting; * Internal controls & external audits;
- Financial systems and related processes;
- Charitable and restricted funds management including CRA reporting; and
- Providing counsel to the Executive Team on financial matters;
This position may be required to act on behalf of the Vice President in his/her absence.
Minimum Qualifications
Education
- The successful candidate will have a 4-year degree in Business Administration, or Accounting, and have a Certified Professional Accountant (CPA) designation.
Experience
The successful candidate will have 7+ years of relevant experience. In addition, the successful candidate will have:
- Demonstrated experience in periodic financial reporting, including budgets, variance analysis;
- Demonstrated leadership skills with experience in team development & provision of indirect supervision of clerical/analytical staff;
- Demonstrated commitment to client service, with ability to balance client requirements within policy & fiscal constraints; and
- Experience with the implementation and/or enhancement of enterprise resources and other functional systems would be an asset.

- Superior verbal & written communication skills;
- Well-developed negotiation & presentation skills;
- Well-developed analytical, time management & organizational skills to thrive in a busy office environment with multiple & sometimes competing deadlines; and
- Project Management skills.
