Job description: What is the opportunity?

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Reporting & Analytics, this role is responsible for Supplier Relationship Management related to Symcor’s Digital Cheque Processing Services and Technology Support. The incumbent is accountable for the enterprise-wide relationship management of the following Symcor services: Residual Paper Services, Electronic Chargeback Services, Tracing & Research, and Cheque Image Archive, collectively referred to as Residual Paper Services. In addition, the incumbent is accountable as the liaison between Symcor and RBC Technology Groups for technology support.

What will you do?

  • Manage the day-to-day relationship with Symcor on behalf of the RBC enterprise for Symcor Cheque Processing – Residual Paper Services and Technology Support
  • Primary escalation point for Symcor Residual Paper and Technology Support incident records, responsible to provide timely support and guidance to Symcor and RBC Stakeholder Groups (Business, Technology, Operations)
  • Accountable for facilitating incident resolution including organizing production support to minimize client impact and restore services. Responsible to follow-up and close gaps in order to minimize risk of incident reoccurrences
  • Manage incidents involving potential financial loss, client impact or privacy breaches with urgency and actively pursue resolution in order to minimize risk of loss and client impact
  • Accountable to facilitate the change management process between Symcor and RBC Stakeholder Groups (Business, IT, Operations) via Symcor Change Control Process
  • Act as primary liaison between Symcor and RBC Stakeholder Groups, managing collaboration, promoting effective communication, clarity in responsibilities, and alignment of strategic expectations and priorities
  • Liaise between Symcor and RBC Technology Groups (infrastructure, applications, network, information security etc.) in order to manage system or general technology changes, including firewalls changes, certificate updates, post implementation verifications, etc.

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have

  • 5-7 years of applicable experience
  • Above average analytical and problem solving skills
  • Proven success at driving deliverables to completion, exercising effective change management strategies and tactics
  • Ability to foster effective collaboration and interaction across multiple groups and disciplines
  • Capable of handling complex issues, balancing strategic thinking and tactical skills
  • Anticipates and delivers innovative business solutions that demonstrate a deep understanding of clients’ and business partners’ short and long term needs
  • Professional maturity to deal with senior managers/executives

Nice-to-have

  • Understanding of Digital Cheque Processing technology and operations, including related business units and products
  • Understanding of Symcor Residual Paper Services
  • Understanding of banking operations and underlying technologies (infrastructure, payment applications, network, information security)
  • Understanding of General Ledgers, DDA, and EDCD
  • Understanding of ACSS, AFT and other payment channels
  • Incident management and/or technology support experience
