The Registered Nurse provides a leadership role within the client care team and provides care in situations in which the client’s condition is complex and the client care outcomes are not predictable. Within the scope of practice, the Registered Nurse promotes health, assesses and provides care and treatment by supportive, preventative, therapeutic, palliative and rehabilitative means to attain or maintain optimal function for the client. This is a combined acute medical and surgical unit.

Here is what you will need:
- Current certificate of registration in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario
- Must be compliant with College of Nurses quality assurance standards
- 2 years’ recent experience working on a Med/Surgical Unit
- Current B.C.L.S Certification essential, on hire
- I.V initiation and Peripheral Blood Sampling
- P.C.A. pumps
- Blood Glucose Monitoring
- Central Lines and Central Blood Sampling
- Demonstrated good communication, organizational and time management skills
- Demonstrated ability to deal effectively and co-cooperatively with all levels of staff, patients and the public
- Proven ability to adapt readily to change
- Must meet expectations for appropriate, respectful and professional conduct, as set out in the GBGH Code of Conduct
- Must be able to fulfill physical requirements of the job, as per current Physical Demands Analysis
- Demonstrated satisfactory work performance and attendance history
- Position includes assignments on both 2 North & 2 West
Assets:
- Computerized Documentation (i.e. Meditech)
- ACLS
- Paediatric Advanced Life Support (P.A.L.S.)
- Completion of Physical Assessment of Adult
- Preference for proficiency in French/English language

Hours of Work: Part Time Permanent. Must be available to work shifts including days, evenings, nights and weekends. Shifts and hours may change according to departmental requirements and as per the ONA collective agreement.
Salary: $33.90 – $47.69 an hour
