Job description: Dow has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Site Logistics Run Plant Engineer located in Fort Saskatchewan (AB, CAN)!
About You
The Senior Site Logistics Run Plant Engineer role exists to provide technical support and Supply Chain operational expertise to assist work teams on daily operations in the areas of safety, productivity, quality, cost management, and reliability. You will identify and implement technical solutions to optimize site logistics operations and maximize business value. Also, you will be responsible for:
Providing leadership to continuously improve the department’s environmental, health, & safety performance.
Working with Technical Advisors and plant personnel to optimize operations and meet Business and department goals (Safety, productivity, cost, quality).
Managing cost and spending for accountable areas in conjunction with technical advisors.
Managing small projects and supporting larger projects.
Understanding all applicable site logistics process technology and equipment for bulk loading and packaging operations.
Participating in advanced troubleshooting and coaching others to learn these skills.
Collecting and analyzing operational data to assist with the evaluation of improvement opportunities.
Demonstrates priority and commitment through personal behavior. Establishes and models expected behaviors for an empowered organization.
Ensuring that best practices, Most Effective Technology (MET), and Supply Chain operating discipline requirements are effectively implemented.
As required, communicating technical information and issues to plant personnel, technology or expertise centers.
As required, participating on and leading teams in his/her area of accountability.
Ensuring performance metrics/measurements are collected to track work process and operational performance.
Understanding the Business needs relating to production and translates these Business production goals into site logistics activity goals.
Ensuring effective measurement systems are in place to track loading productivity and asset utilization.
Coaching plant personnel on measurement systems and daily updates of performance records and business measurements.
Leading or assisting in process related root cause or failure analysis.
Ensuring site logistics operating discipline, procedures and guidelines meet applicable quality requirements.
Site logistics contact for issues regarding quality and tools to address customer issues.
Initiating improvement project ideas and working with business/functional improvement leaders to secure funding as appropriate.
Works with business and logistics personnel to introduce new products.
Your knowledge, skills and abilities include: production operations, small project management and support, interpersonal effectiveness, understanding customer needs, team work, taking initiative, problem solving skills, value creation, technical proficiency in use of computer applications, analytical skills and project management skills.
Required Qualifications:
A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or relevant military experience at a U.S. E6 rank or Canadian Petty Officer 2nd Class or higher.
A minimum requirement for this Canadian-based position is the ability to work legally in the Canada. No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position.
