What can you expect in this role?

Reporting to the Claims Operations Analytics Manager, the Data Analyst will be responsible for supporting the data and reporting needs of one of our insurance clients/partners. The role will involve interacting with internal stakeholders for business problem formulation, requirements gathering, identifying relevant data sources or sub processes in which to deploy new KPIs, communicating new data extract requirements, analyzing and synthesizing data from multiple sources, and ultimately producing high quality insights that demonstrate a full narrative.

This position involves a significant amount of collaboration – the successful candidate will be highly adaptable and able to prioritize multiple critical projects.

What you’ll do:

  • Extract, clean, and structure raw data and unstructured data, perform adhoc analyses and reporting when requested by functional business partners
  • Collaborate with various departments on business insights needs
  • Produce accurate and meaningful dashboards/reports that identify and tell the story of success
  • Independently respond to requests of internal and external stakeholders
  • Perform deep dive analysis while determining/detecting key data correlations and trends
  • Create process and governance documentation including data dictionaries to ensure operational continuity, assist with other data management activities (testing, mapping, cleaning, etc)

What do you bring to the role?

  • University Degree – Statistics, Economics, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Technology or related field
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential – true ability to work collaboratively to achieve team goals
  • Proven analytical skills with exceptional attention to detail
  • Demonstrated experience with data visualization tools such Power BI, IBM Cognos, Tableau
  • Advanced SQL, Python, Excel, PowerPoing Skills (screening will be conducted to asses knowledge of SQL and Python)
  • Curious enjoys problem-solving coupled with strong critical thinking skills
  • Strong work ethic and commitment to operational excellence
  • Insurance industry experience (preferably P&C Insurance sector) would be beneficial but is not required

This role requires successful clearance of a background check (including credit & criminal checks)
