What is the opportunity?

As Senior Manager, Technology Workforce & Patent Strategy, you will be responsible for providing strategic direction and program leadership for the Technology Workforce & Patent Strategy as part of the broader T&O Strategy team mandate.

Activities will include understanding emerging technologies and skills required for adoption; leading initiatives that will include competitive intelligence, comparative assessment and thought leadership that will inform decision making for our technology leaders and support the broader T&O workforce planning cycles. As well as the development and execution of the Patent Strategy to support the strategic plan.

What will you do?

  • Identify technical talent requirements for strategic objectives
  • Create a long term vision of the strategic evolution of the technical roles and skills required to meet the strategic objective
  • Analyze external factors and workforce trends that may impact the pipeline
  • Analyze current workforce and forecast scenarios to identify capacity requirements and gaps
  • Align business requirements and HR initiatives with Capacity Planning
  • Define guidelines to align Upskilling and Reskilling efforts across T&O
  • Establish a strategic workforce plan to meet talent requirements using appropriate sourcing, recruitment, development and redeployment techniques
  • Serve as the SME for all technology workforce planning activities across the enterprise
  • Develop strong relationships and collaborate closely with cross functional stakeholders on the workforce plan
  • Provide continuous assessment of the patent portfolio (strengths, weaknesses and depth)
  • Drive T&O engagement and awareness program to drive active patent development across the organization

What do you need to succeed?

Must have

  • 5+ years of proven experience in consulting and/or implementing workforce strategies
  • Proficient experience working with data and transforming information into actionable insights
  • Experience with driving new initiatives and/or transformational programs
  • Technology acumen and understanding of the software development lifecycle
  • Demonstrates strong collaboration/relationship building, decision making and the ability to influence without authority
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment, bring forth new perspectives and insights
  • Strong interpersonal communication and organizational skills

Nice to have:

  • Understanding of digital tools including AI-based talent management, skills platform, HR automation, and Future workforce design and analytics tools
  • MBA
  • Experience presenting to executives
