Who are we looking for?

Minimum requirements:

  • Completed 3rd year and currently enrolled in a Bachelor of Science or Engineering degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or other related technical discipline.

Useful skills or abilities (Optional):

  • Basic uunderstanding of fluid dynamics, pumping systems and hydraulics
  • Ability to read P&IDs (Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams) and PFDs (Process Flow Diagrams)

What will you be doing?

Position overview:

The Project Engineering intern participates in the mechanical and process design of cutting-edge water and wastewater treatment systems, particularly those utilizing Ultra Filtration membrane technologies.

As part of the Project Engineering team, you will collaborate with a cross-functional engineering team in executing custom project designs to exceed customer expectations, deliver with quality, meet schedule and budget goals, and ensure project risks are mitigated. You will work on a variety of projects in different stages from the initial concept phase through detailed engineering design, equipment manufacture, and installation.

Nature of work:

In this role you will have the opportunity to make a positive impact on the environment and support the SUEZ mission of a circular economy. You will be part of a team of engineers who design and deliver world class water and wastewater treatment plants for customers all over the world. Under the guidance of experienced engineers, you will undertake various activities supporting the design of these systems including the development of system related drawings such as Process Flow Diagrams(PFDs), Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), and Equipment Arrangement Drawings, as well as the sizing and specification of various equipment including pumps, blowers, piping, valves, tanks and instrumentation – all critical components integral in making our systems achieve the treatment objectives. In the first few weeks you will get the opportunity to be part of series of trainings to help you understand some of the tools and concepts needed on the job. In addition, you will have the chance to experience and take part in the various committees we have such as Diversity & Inclusion Council, Employee Committee, Women of SUEZ leadership network and many more.
