Job description: The Physics Department at the University of Prince Edward Island has an opening for a sessional instructor during the forthcoming Winter 2022 semester. This appointment is subject to final budgetary approval.

PHYS-3420 INTRODUCTION TO MEDICAL PHYSICS

This course provides students with an introduction to physics methods and methodology in medicine. Topics include: radiation sources and transport in tissues, radiation dosimetry and therapy, and applications of lasers and ultrasound in medicine.

Tuesday, Thursday 8:30 a.m. -9:45 a.m.

PREREQUISITE: Biology 1310, and Physics 1120 or Physics 1220. Otherwise, permission of the instructor is required

3-credit hour lecture

Qualifications:

Successful applicants should hold a minimum of a Master’s degree in Physics or an equivalent combination of qualifications and experience. Applicants should have experience in teaching, research or industry practice related to the course content.

Priority will be given to qualified individuals on the sessional roster of the academic unit.
