Overview:

As WestJet looks towards a busy period of recovery and growth, the Commercial Technology team is seeking a Strategy Analyst to support the Loyalty Technology team. Reporting to the Senior Manager, Commercial Operations, the individual is accountable to execute on and provide analysis and insights on the efficient operation of the Loyalty Technology team. This role will play a part in multiple shared stakeholder initiatives and responsible for driving excellence in our processes and team performance. The Strategy Analyst will collaborate with internal business units and team members to facilitate analysis and process improvement opportunities including the support of our Commercial Technology long term strategy.

This position can be based in Calgary AB or Canada remote and is a work from home opportunity.

Key deliverables include:

  • Work closely with product managers and product owners to enable day to day delivery and operations with a long-term view
  • Analyze current delivery and operation processes, strategize process efficiencies that compliment the overall WestJet Technology vision and practices
  • Manage contract/purchase order requests and invoice reconciliation
  • Forecast and track talent acquisition initiatives and provide reporting and insights to leadership
  • Support creation of business cases for loyalty technology projects and initiatives
  • Promote awareness and collaboration with stakeholders through effective communication of Loyalty Technology’s activities
  • Support establishing measurable objectives and performance tracking to the Commercial Technology strategic objectives
  • Establish and maintain onboarding and offboarding processes, collaborating with internal stakeholders
  • Manage new hire assets and system access, as well as other audit controls as required
  • Lead the ideation and execution of team events, well-being initiatives and team building
  • Continuously measure and evaluate strategic roadmap effectiveness
  • Develop and maintain process documentation and resources
  • Partner with team stakeholders and prepare key overview perspectives for senior leadership

Experience and qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration or equivalent experience
  • 5-10 years’ experience working with technology analysis in a business analyst, technical analyst, planning analyst, project coordinator or similar role
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Detail oriented with high degree of accuracy
  • Experience in interpreting, analyzing, and communicating complex data and insights effectively to various audiences from peers to executives
  • Excellent planning and organizational skills
  • Experience in collaborating with and managing stakeholders
  • Experience in driving action and influencing change with critical thinking
  • Experience with financial analysis and budget / forecasting
  • Experience with process development and management
  • Expert level skills in Excel for tracking, reporting, data analysis, etc.
  • Good understanding of technology strategic planning with curiosity and ability to understand and promote different disciplines within the technology team
  • Ability to explore new opportunities and lead in communication and partnerships with internal and external communities
  • Ability to work in diverse, fast paced and fluid environment
  • High degree of diplomacy and good judgement, with the ability to maintain confidentiality
