Job title: Manager of Information Technology

Job description: The Manager of Information Technology functions as a key member of the exempt management team and is accountable for the strategic planning, development and delivery of information technology at the library.

This position reports directly to the Chief Librarian and works closely with other management staff to achieve business goals by ensuring alignment and effective information technology management.

The incumbent directly manages the Coordinator, Information Technology Services, and has oversight over the Information Technology team.

External relationships include CUPE 718-05 executive and national representatives, City staff, vendors, contractors, suppliers, library customers, volunteers, and community groups.

This role has several functions that may vary and change over time.

Who should apply:

The successful candidate is a proven business team member who possesses:

  • Bachelors’ degree in Computer Sciences or related discipline or equivalent combination of relevant training and work experience in the fields of computer sciences.
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in a library or municipal systems environment.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience as an IT specialist, two of which should include project lead experience in complex IT projects.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of management experience and people leadership.
