Rogers is currently looking to hire a Head End Technician within the Ontario Network team. As a member of the Head End team, you will be responsible for and participate in all activities in the Head End and associated facilities. These activities include repairing and commissioning all services carried on the Rogers network.

What you will be doing:
– Installation and commissioning of equipment and services.
– Maintenance of equipment and services.
– Repair and restoration of equipment and services.
– Participate in development, continuous improvement, and following processes and procedures related to Faults Management, Preventive Maintenance, Change, Control, Head End/Site audits and other duties as they pertain to the Head End.
– Ensure the proper documentation for services, equipment, and facilities are updated as required.
– Ensure all work is done in accordance with established procedures and standards.
– Record and report on all work activities as established for the department.
– Work with many other departments and participate on cross-functional teams as required.
– Complete projects that are assigned from time to time.
– Manage a diverse workload as well as manage contractor activity.
– Travel to sites within your responsibility as required.
– Be aware and adhere to all applicable Health and Safety regulations, in accordance with legislation and related Company policy.

What you should have:
– College diploma in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or other related field is required.
– A minimum of 10 years’ experience in CATV environment is required.
– Strong computer skills in MS-Office, VISIO, AutoCAD, Outlook, text editors, and others.
– Must have a valid driver’s license.
– Be able to participate in a standby on call schedule, overnight work and work overtime as required.
– Willing to work flexible shifts and schedules during the day, night, and weekends.
– Able to work independently with minimal supervision.
– Sound IP and network architecture knowledge, including setup, troubleshooting, and maintenance is a definite asset.
– Sound knowledge of digital, RF and video technology is a definite asset.
– Sound knowledge of relevant Rogers Engineering and Operations Processes.
