Overview of role:

WestJet is seeking an Advisor, Research & Insights to join our Intelligence and Analytics team. The members of the Research & Insights team come from a variety of backgrounds. What we have in common is a passion for the pursuit of actionable, value-add insight. We are proactive, persistently curious, and creative collaborators. The successful candidate will support internal and external research initiatives across WestJet, advising on methods, managing projects, generating insights, and communicating results. As an Advisor, Insights you will lead a varied portfolio that will evolve with organizational needs.

Key deliverables include:

• Lead ‘always-on’ voice of guest feedback streams and ‘point in time’ ad hoc projects from start to finish, including all aspects of planning, execution, insight generation, and storytelling
• Connect insights within and across projects; bring data and insights together to achieve objectives
• Work with internal stakeholders/leaders to understand business needs and deliver actionable insights that drive opportunities to unlock unrealized value for WestJet
• Create content to summarize research findings with key insights and recommendations
• Use a storytelling approach to create story arcs and narratives that communicate complex research findings with internal stakeholders and leaders
• Collaborate with third-party partners in service of project objectives

Experience and qualifications:

• Completed Bachelor’s degree or higher in social sciences, mathematics, business, or similar relevant education
• 5+ years’ experience with elements of research process including requirements, methodology design, recruitment/screeners, discussion guides, survey instruments, data analysis and reporting
• Must have a background in concepting and executing qualitative and quantitative research, including focus groups and online surveys
• Should be well-versed in analyzing data to uncover actionable insights
• Ability to synthesize and analyze complex information either verbally, written or presentation form with demonstrated ability to present results (includes executive reports)
• Comfortable discussing implications of research findings with stakeholders
• Strong analytical ability, skilled at seeing the implications research findings with (a statistical qualification is not required, but comfort with data analysis is essential)
• Strong project management, time management and organizational skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint
• Proficient in online survey programming and data analysis platforms, including but not limited to Medallia, Alchemer, SPSS, WinCross, Tableau, Alteryx and/or R
