Job Description

The Senior Data Analyst is a lead member of the Analytics function at SSENSE, responsible for developing solutions, dashboards, and insights to identify shopping behaviours opportunities. Working with Sales, Customer Experience, Product and other data functions, they will analyze customer data spanning pre and post-purchase touchpoints, build analytical frameworks, and develop insights and recommendations to deliver a best-in-class luxury customer experience. The ideal candidate holds a blend of technical skills and business acumen and will contribute to the growth of the Analytics practice.

Responsibilities

Advanced Analysis, Reporting & Insights – 40%

  • Develop a deep understanding of the SSENSE shopping behaviour and articulate key insights that drive optimizations across the customer journey.
  • Leverage data analysis techniques (statistical modelling, clustering methods, causal inference) to identify high-value segments and their distinctive characteristics.
  • Democratize customer data usage; socialize easy-to-understand data visualizations and insights to key stakeholders, including Sales, Loyalty, Customer Experience, and Product.
  • Develop metrics and analytical frameworks that uplift the team’s analytical capabilities and facilitate understanding SSENSE’s most valuable customers.

Testing & Optimization Foundation – 20%

  • Work closely with Web Analysts, Data Scientists and the Product function to create and maintain robust and efficient analysis models that support the scalability of the experimentation practice.
  • Be a facilitator and an advocate of user testing in the organization and serve as a primary point of contact for critical experiments.
  • Participate in the development of artifacts, tools, and processes to standardize the testing process and facilitate the growth of the continuous experimentation culture, which empowers analysts to improve their work efficiency.

Web Platforms Analytics Strategy & Foundation – 30%

  • Operationalize the access to data and critical insights – develop and maintain self-service dashboards, data tools, and data pipelines that enable monitoring of the health and performance of key customer touchpoints.
  • Support the development of the Web analytics ecosystem (measurement tracking framework, book of definitions, integration with offline data) required to gather high-quality behavioural data from customers and to derive quality insights.

Training and Development – 10%

  • Coach, train and mentor other analysts, providing feedback as required.
  • Assist in developing and documenting best practices for improving operational efficiencies within the analytics function.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related analytical field.
  • A minimum of 3 years experience in digital commerce and/or data analytics.
  • A minimum of 2 years experience in web/digital analytics with major web analytics tools such as Google Analytics and Adobe Analytics.
  • A minimum of 1 year experience with A/B and/or multivariate testing including knowledge of testing methodologies and evaluation techniques.
  • Proficiency in querying and analyzing large data sets using SQL; R/Python experience is an asset.
  • Proficient in developing dashboards, custom reports and segmented analyses using Tableau or other data visualization tools.
  • Solid understanding of tagging requirements, experience with Google Tag Manager an asset.
  • Ability to implement web and mobile analytics best practices.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel / Google Sheets and Microsoft PowerPoint / Google Slides.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in French and English.
