The Team: S&P Dow Jones Indices, Web platform team is responsible for the design and development of large-scale external facing and internal systems hosted on cloud leveraging latest cloud based technologies.

You will have the ability to make significant impact and shape the future of the strategic platform initiatives, as well as interact with multiple teams, provide thought leadership and drive innovation.
What we are looking for: This is a senior role within SPDJI, we are looking for seasoned technologist with vast hands on experience in software development and also have a deep working knowledge of AWS Cloud infrastructure and technologies. Fundamental to this role is a demonstrable ability to combine your strong leadership and problem solving skills with deep technical and delivery know how. You must have exceptional collaboration and communication skills, be highly motivated, creative and engaged. As a leader, you will enable experienced engineers and the teams they support to drive business value while your organization focuses on, planning, building, improving, innovating, and contributing to all the security aspects of the product vision.
Responsibilities:
Design and development of Java applications for SPDJI web sites and its feeder systems
Migrate existing applications to java based micro services, deploy using docker and containers
Participate in multiple software development processes including requirement analysis, design, coding, testing and Documentation
Develop software applications based on clear business specifications
Work on new initiatives and support existing Index applications
Perform Application & System Performance tuning and troubleshoot performance issues
Develop web based applications and build rich front-end user interfaces
Build applications with object oriented concepts and apply design patterns
Integrate in-house applications with various vendor software platforms
Setup development environment / sandbox for application development
Perform unit testing of application code and fix errors
Interface with databases to extract information and build reports
Effectively interact with customers, business users and IT staff
What we’re looking for:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or Engineering is required, or in lieu, a demonstrated equivalence in work experience
Strong hands on experience in designing, developing, testing and successfully deploying critical and complex projects
Strong Java skills with experience in development of concurrent and distributed systems
Advanced experience with Spring-based technologies (Spring Boot etc.)
Experience in designing and implementing micro services based solutions
Should have experience writing unit/integration tests
Experience writing SQL queries and good understanding of data model
Basic Knowledge of User Interface design & development using Angular, HTML5 & CSS
Working knowledge in AWS cloud (EC2, ECS, Load Balancer, Security Group, EMR, Lambda, S3, Glue, etc.)
Experience in DevOps development and deployment using docker and containers
Good knowledge about Infrastructure and exposure to CI/CD
Strong analytical and problem solving skills
