The Sunshine Coast Regional District (SCRD) is the regional government serving the approximate 30,000 residents of the Sunshine Coast, BC. Bordered by rugged mountains on one side and the Georgia Strait on the other, the Sunshine Coast is situated on a peninsula between Howe Sound and Jervis Inlet in the traditional territory of the shíshálh and Skwxwú7mesh First Nations. The Sunshine Coast Regional District is currently inviting applications for the position of Information Technology Support Technician (Full-Time). We are currently looking for a friendly and talented person to join our IT division. If you are a highly organized, service-oriented individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment then this is the role for you! Reporting to the Manager, Information Technology and G.I.S., this position is responsible for providing first level help desk, computer and telephony support to users of the Regional District. This includes technical work that requires understanding of computer hardware, IP phones and peripherals, Microsoft operating systems and desktop application software as well as the ability to utilize various troubleshooting techniques.
This is a bargaining unit position with a wage rate of $35.67 per hour and includes a full benefit package upon successful completion of a four-month probationary period. The SCRD also provides for paid sick leave, annual vacation starting at 4% and increasing to 6% after probation, 13 statutory holidays, paid Family Responsibility Leave and we are currently offering flexible work schedules in a hybrid environment based on mutually agreeable arrangements.
