Job description: Job Description: SUMMARY: Responsible for utilizing established procedures, guidelines, and industry knowledge and experience to analyze current business information systems, applications, and tools in order to identify and implement moderately complex solutions that meet organizational needs and requirements, under general supervision.

We are looking for an experienced Mainframe Application/Systems Migration expert with skills to help develop our sunsetting program and projects (some are in flight).

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Performs need, trend, feasibility and performance assessments related to business information systems and applications to ensure business requirements are fulfilled, risks are mitigated, and value is optimized. May design, code, test and analyze existing software. Makes and implements recommendations that improve system design and/or streamline performance and productivity based on analysis. Develops and documents best practices based on management and end-user feedback. Conducts code and configuration audits in order to assess use, retention, migration or sunsetting. May create moderately complex technical documentation. Anticipates internal/external business challenges and recommends and implements system value opportunities, including process optimization, policies and procedures, and end-user experience improvements. Establishes and maintains partnerships internal/external of the organization to maintain a unified approach to software development, migration or retirement, and assist in facilitating the resolution of software and business information system issues. (Variations include, but are not limited to mainframe, integrations, Java, .NET, reporting and data warehouse developers.)

THE WORK:
– Participate in strategic assessment of the existing mainframe ecosystem, migrating applications to the cloud, language migration and rearchitecting.
– Provide technical insight and input for teams performing static code discovery, rehosting assessment, language migration and migration to cloud; collaborate with leads across a team of engineers and products developers to plan and execute work
– Develop practical solutions and methodologies to further support the Application Modernization offering.
– Experience in development/programming mainframe technology projects (COBOL, DB2, CICS, IMS) or other legacy programming languages VB6, Power Builder, AS400/RPG)
– Experience modernizing mainframe applications (C#, Java)

REQUIREMENTS/EXPERIENCE:
– 5+ years related work experience. Experience Details: Demonstrated proficiency and experience in design, implementation, monitoring and troubleshooting technical infrastructure or development or equivalent combination of transferrable experience and education
– Related Bachelor s degree or additional related equivalent work experience IT related field
– Extensive working knowledge of multiple technologies and their interfaces and integration.
– Competent working in one or more environments highly integrated with an operating system.
– Experience implementing and administering/managing technical solutions in major, large-scale system implementations
– High critical thinking skills to evaluate alternatives and present solutions that are consistent with business objectives and strategy.
– Ability to manage tasks independently and take ownership of responsibilities
– Proven leadership abilities including effective knowledge sharing, conflict resolution, facilitation of open discussions, fairness and displaying appropriate levels of assertiveness.
– Ability to communicate highly complex technical information clearly and articulately for all levels and audiences.
