Reporting to the IT Facility Projects Director and Manager South Region, the Senior Project Manager is responsible to manage projects and project teams through the project management life cycle. This includes architecture and planning, implementation, project close-out and transition to operations. The incumbent represents IT as a single point of contact on assigned infrastructure projects for the Connect Care program and IT Facility portfolio. General Position Information: Familiar with construction and renovation projects is preferred. Leads infrastructure projects such as Wireless Implementations. Project work is of an advanced nature and complexity requiring specialized depth and/or breadth of expertise across diverse IT disciplines to deliver IT solutions. Develops work plans and schedules and monitors assigned IT project resources to remain on schedule, retain project scope and remain within budget allotments. Solves a range of complex problems; takes a new perspective using existing or new solutions. Able to lead several projects concurrently with varying degrees of complexity. Works independently; with guidance in only the most complex situations. Works closely with hospital facility and maintenance staff, Capital Management and IT Internal Sponsors and acts as a single point of contact for IT project services and requirements. Works to manage and direct IT project resources (eg. Telecom, Network, Telehealth, Clinical Support Services, Application Teams), to remain on schedule, retain project scope and remain within budget allotments. Communicates, manages expectations and represents the organization’s interests to internal and external stakeholders; may work directly with external vendors. Responsible for reporting status, budget and other updates as required to the organization/stakeholders.
Description:
Requires in-depth knowledge and experience in either a clinical setting or in IT. Identifies resources needed, secures project resources by following the approved intake processes. Works cohesively with assigned resources to validate project requirements, solicits feedback on best practices and coordinates activities between resource team, project sponsors and user groups. Monitors the project’s progress against standards, timelines, plans and budget, actively identifying and resolving issues within policies and guidelines. Escalates project issues in accordance to the approved project governance as appropriate. Facilitates project team meetings. Approves team resource time in Project and Portfolio Management Software (AHS PPM). Works with project resources and user groups as a liaison – invites project resources to meetings as required, gathers input and recommendations, validates requirements, obtains cost estimates, etc. Controls and tracks expenditures against approved budget for projects with approved budget allocations. Monitors deliverables and project milestones. Ensures adherence to AHS quality standards and PMO methodology. Manages the integration of vendor tasks and tracks and reviews vendor deliverables, when applicable. Post implementation review and closure of the project according to the PMO methodology. Requests closure of PPM project file. Works closely with BAS-IT to finalize financials to project closure.

Required Qualifications:
A bachelor’s degree or IT Polytechnic Certificate, with plans towards working on a project management designation. A minimum of 10 years of project experience working in an IT environment. Indepth knowledge of project management principles, tools and methodologies. Additional Required Qualifications:

Construction knowledge is an asset. Must be comfortable working in a hospital setting and being onsite.
