About the Role:
Corus has an exciting full time opportunity for an Accountant in our Toronto head office. Reporting to the Senior Accountant, Media, you will assist in both the Audio and Television divisions’ financial and management reporting, expense analysis, balance sheet reconciliation and ad hoc reporting and special projects as required.
Responsibilities:
- Support the preparation of monthly, quarterly, year end financial statements and reconciliations
- Prepare journal entries for bank transactions and prepare associated bank reconciliation
- Coding invoices to proper expense categories
- Communicate effectively with Business Managers to coordinate with regional accounting activities
- Prepare and administer industry filings and ensure accurate payment of associated fees
- Prepare monthly GST/HST, WHT and QST returns
- Execute the company-wide mass allocation routine for general operating expenses
About You
What We Need From You:
- 2-4 years practical work experience in an accounting environment
- Post-secondary education and enrolled in an accounting program, CPA preferred
- Experience with Microsoft Excel required
- Experience with Microsoft Dynamics Great Plains and Adaptive Insights an asset
- Strong communication/interpersonal skills
- Deadline oriented, detail oriented, ability to multi-task and proven organizational skills
