As a Senior Finance Analyst, you will be involved in the analysis of financial results, creating financial presentations, developing new methods to streamline decision-making tools including the preparation of management reports that drive the business performance forward.
This is an on-site position with some flexibility of working remote. Our team strives for an open, interactive, and dynamic work environment that promotes an active exchange of ideas and information. This position will provide valuable interaction with leadership and direct exposure to innovative manufacturing operations in a high-tech environment.
Roles & Responsibilities
Develop a financial understanding of the EV manufacturing process, identifying opportunities to reduce cost and help drive a profitable EV future for General Motors.
Create insightful analytics that provide a clear roadmap for the team to drive performance in cost metrics.
Lead the annual Budget rollout, including department target creation, timely preparation/distribution of presentation packages, collection, analysis, preparation of plant submission summary, and provide Budget owner’s guidance on spending.
Manage the consolidation of monthly financial forecasts/actuals, analyze for anomalies, and present results to Senior Leadership. Compilation and distribution of plant performance reports to support leadership reporting, assist Business Planners with the analysis of results for their respective cost metrics, and lead monthly forecast review meetings.
Support of month end activities including journal entries, reconciliations, variance analysis, vendor cost recoveries, and timely updating of the plant reporting database.
Work collaboratively with Material Control Manager and the Energy Manager to provide financial support and analysis on the impact to future utilities and inventory levels driven by operational changes.
Ensure internal controls as set out by GMNA Business Process Controls are not compromised through monitoring controls and participation in Control Self-Assessment validations across the plant.
Coach assigned leadership champions and their departmental leads with cost council meetings.
Liaise with GM US Headquarters on financial reporting and related inquires
Ad hoc projects as required including such items as, enhancements to streamline existing processes, strengthening analysis tools to drive cost savings initiatives, business case costing.
Required Qualifications & Skills
In order to be successful, you will need a Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting or finance combined with 3 years Accounting/Finance experience. Have an analytically oriented mindset with understanding of accounting and financial principles. The position is highly interactive and requires strong communication and ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams as well as individually. Able to produce a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail while multitasking. In addition, be proficient in Microsoft Excel combined with strong analytical skills and have a mindset to challenge the status quo and be challenged.
Preferred Qualifications
It is also preferred that you have knowledge of SAP and a Post Graduate designation/degree i.e. CPA, CMA, MBA
