Associate Director, Electrical Engineering (Full Time) – Mississauga, ON

The overall objective of the Associate Director, Electrical Engineering is to work in a dynamic environment to assure the safety and reliability of our electrical equipment and power systems at Linde facilities worldwide. The position provides technical expertise to global teams and regions, including:

  • Participate in development of electrical safety policies and compliance programs
  • Electrical reliability engineering and management
  • Electrical compliance reviews
  • Electrical design reviews
  • Participation in RCAs
  • Investigation of major electrical events
  • Supplier qualification and quality control
  • Interface with LE on design reviews, engineering standards, equipment evaluation, and specification reviews.
  • Implement and improve electrical preventive and predictive maintenance programs
  • Develop tools to improve electrical reliability
  • Support development of electrical maintenance best practices.

Responsibilities:

  • Participate in the development of electrical safety policies and compliance programs
  • Work with global electrical team in the development of maintenance standards and operating procedures for electrical equipment
  • Accountable for identification and implementation of global predictive maintenance tools for electrical equipment such as OMM, ESHM etc.,
  • Accountable for evaluating effectiveness and optimizing electrical preventive maintenance methodologies
  • Lead plant electrical reliability assessments and assist with action item completion
  • Assist regions in identifying and resolving chronic asset failures (bad actors)
  • Assist regions in identifying and resolving long-term asset concerns (reliability threats)
  • Assist Electrical Specialists in global RBUs to develop solutions to technical issues
  • Liaison between global operations teams and Linde Engineering to facilitate alignment on electrical design/construction standards
  • Engage and work across internal teams (Ops, R&D, Procurement, Engineering etc.) as required, to develop and implement strategic solutions to improve availability and reliability

  • Digitalization, Smart Operations, Plant & Process Operations
  • Reliability Centers /Equipment Health Centers

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering
  • At least 10 years’ experience in the industry, in project, design, maintenance or reliability functions
  • Experience with digital and analog protective circuits and devices for electrical equipment
  • Experience in electrical equipment maintenance
  • Ability to understand electrical control schematics and one-line diagrams
  • Understanding of regulatory and industrial standards and codes
