Job description: Robert Half is looking for a Director of Finance to join a well-respected transportation company. As part of the management team, the director of finance must have strong leadership, management, technology, analytical, strategic planning, and communication skills. Responsibilities
– Direct risk and insurance management
– Oversee the preparation of all financial reports
– Maintains and reviews budgeting and forecasting models
– Prepare financial outlooks and forecasts
– Develop and monitor an organizational structure in order to accomplish department goals and objectives
– Manage the operating procedures of the department, including short- and long-range goals, objectives, and policies- Create and manage five-year business plans along with department managers
– Supervise all operations of the finance and accounting department
– Propose benchmarks for analyzing financial and operating performance
– Perform financial analysis for contract negotiations and product investment decisions
– Ensure adherence to budgetary reporting requirements, including local, state, and federal
– Hire and train employees, especially finance staff, and manage retention
– Supervise financial planning and budget management functions
– Perform analysis on operating results, comparing against budget
Requirements
– CPA designation
– 10+ years of progressive finance and accounting experience in the Trucking / Transportation Space
– Very detail oriented and expert analytical thinking skills
– Experience within a high-growth company
– Excellent communication skills
– Strong leadership skills with a proven ability to successfully advance the careers within a finance team.
