Mattamy Homes is seeking a Manager of Operations Finance who will be an integral member on this journey to accelerate this Division’s growth and be a trusted business partner to project teams comprising of members from our Development, Construction, and Sales & Marketing teams. This is an exciting role responsible for leading quarterly proforma budget reviews, supporting decision making at the project level, oversight of project financing, Partner reporting, along with driving value-added strategic process initiatives through the GTA Urban Division.
What you’ll do
- Develop strong relationships with functional groups and department leaders within Development, Construction, and Sales & Marketing
- Lead project teams through the quarterly proforma budget review cycle which consists of cashflow forecasting, budget revisions and performing comparative analysis of financial return metrics
- Develop financial models to evaluate the impact of potential business decisions. Financial models will incorporate decision-making tools such as value proposition assessment, profitability, DCF, IRR, and NPV analysis
- Develop models, KPI dashboards and other analyses through management of large volume of data to drive initiatives, monitor trends, identify exceptions and to support the budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning processes
- Support to the development team as needed in the preparation of memos submitted to the Capital Acquisition Committee
- Responsible for coordinating project financing with the Mattamy Treasury department and overall monitoring of capital needs including executing loan draws.
- Support the continuous deployment of new forecasting / budgeting tools and the development, implementation and updating of policies, procedures, and internal controls for the Urban Division
- Responsible for forecasting and preparing all partner capital calls, distributions, and monthly / quarterly financial packages
- Collaborate across departments to identify, recommend, and implement changes or enhancements to proformas, internal and external reporting and accounting controls
- Ensure the accounting of all transactions from Operations are appropriately entered by the corporate team in an accurate and timely manner
- Support the Operations teams on all tax and accounting-related matters and inquiries
- Lead the system set-up for newly launched communities with the responsibility of maintaining timely and accurate data from the time of sale until the project closes
- Prepare formal memos including post-mortems, policies, and gap analyses to illustrate the issues, implications, and solutions
- Prepare ad hoc reports and analysis requested by Operations and the Corporate Office
What you bring
- University degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- CPA, CFA or CBV designation or MBA
- 5+ years of progressive experience in Reporting, FP&A, Operations Finance with direct experience working across- departments, and divisions
- Advanced Excel skills, financial modelling including cash flow projections
- Strong analytical and project management skills, including a thorough understanding of how to interpret internal business partners needs and decisions and their impact on financial reporting and cash flow
- Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal, including the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization
- Ability to turn ideas into business results through effective communication, project management and goal-setting skills
Bonus points
- Residential Construction, High Rise, ICI (Industrial/Commercial/Institutional), REIT or Asset Management experience
- JD Edwards, Procore, BuildPro, or Essbase software experience is an asset
