Position Description and Job Duties:
The successful candidate is expected to pursue research in various aspects of tropical-extratropical processes, such as but not limited to dynamics, moist processes, impacts on forecasting at all scales, atmosphere-ocean interactions, and their changing nature under climate change, employing observations, modelling and/or theory. The Department of Atmospheric and Oceanic Sciences at McGill is a leading Canadian institution in weather, climate and air quality research and has strong ties with the Departments of Mathematics and Statistics, Chemistry, Earth and Planetary Sciences, the Bieler School of Environment and with the Earth System Science program. Candidates will benefit from fostering natural links within the department and with other McGill departments and faculties, as well as meteorological and oceanographic research institutions in the Montreal area and across Canada. Access to high-performance computing is available through the Digital Research Alliance of Canada

Qualifications and Education Requirements:
A relevant doctoral degree in physical sciences or engineering is required.
