We are searching for a Manager, Corporate Finance, Consolidation and Treasury to join our Finance team based in Halifax, NS.

About the Opportunity

The Manager, Corporate Finance, Consolidation & Treasury will:

  • Lead the preparation and delivery of the monthly consolidated financial reporting package and manage consolidated treasury and financing requirements
  • Lead the on time and on quality preparing and delivery of monthly, quarterly, and annual consolidated financial statements, including non-consolidated statements for two development companies
  • Manage related party transactions, lead budgetary management for corporate home office accounts and provide leadership and coaching to their team to ensure accurate accounting and reporting
  • Provide technical support for complex accounting transactions
  • Champion the use of technology in reporting and promote identification of process improvements and efficiencies
  • Provide leadership and oversight to all departmental activities to ensure compliance to policies, procedures, and applicable legislation
  • Select, shape, lead and develop member of the team

About You

In addition to placing high value on continuous improvement, collaboration and accountability, you bring:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, coupled with a CPA designation
  • A minimum of five to seven (5-7) years experience in a similar role with leadership accountability
  • Thorough technical knowledge of Accounting Standards for Private Enterprises (ASPE)
  • Experience working with consolidations and corporate financial reporting
  • Ability to work independently and analytically with the ability to conduct research, data analysis and resolve complex problems
  • Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams within the organization
  • Strong ability to multi-task and work in a challenging, fast paced environment and meet deadlines
  • Experience working with bank compliance reporting requirements considered an asset
  • Current or previous experience in a multi geographical, multi-divisional or multi-subsidiary enterprise organization is considered an asset
  • Working experience with Great Plains and Yardi software is also considered an asset
