We are currently seeking a Senior Information Technology Associate to provide day-to-day desktop hardware and software support for Raytheon Canada systems and applications. This position will be located in Waterloo, Ontario and may require some travel.
Responsibilities
- Deploy and maintain a Red Hat production environment.
- Provide first tier support for a wide verity of applications, such as Windows 10, MS Office, Outlook, etc. Responsibilities will include implementation, maintenance, performance, and upgrade management of these and other client applications
- Track, evaluate, and install all patches/upgrades to applications within the division to ensure security compliance
- Additional responsibilities will include documentation, ad-hoc reporting, and incident tracking
- Manage Desktop assets, images, licensing, and deployment of systems across the divisions
- Provide timely and efficient problem resolution for end users across Canada
- Server and infrastructure projects will be assigned as time allows
Requirements
- 2 to 5 years of Red Hat experience
- Experience with Solaris/SUN/Oracle will be an asset
- 4+ years of experience with help desk support
- Post-secondary education related to computer systems and networks or equivalent work experience
- Working towards an IT certification provided by vendors such as Red Hat or Microsoft or as provided by an association such as (ISC)2 or ITIL.
- Creative/Innovative thinking
- Commitment to a team-focused environment
- Must have strong application trouble shooting skills and technical report writing skills
- Must have good interpersonal and organizational skills
- Required to have good oral and written communication skills
- Focus on customer service and service delivery
