Job title: Construction Project Administrator

Job description: KONE is looking for a Construction Project Administrator to join our team in Canada West.

The Construction Project Administrator provides administrative and logistical support to the Project Management team. This person will collaborate with all key stakeholders during installation projects and assist in coordinating the activities of designated projects to ensure project objectives are accomplished within the agreed schedule and budget, using approved KONE methodologies and tools.

Your main Responsibilities:

The Project Administrator will work with / under the oversight & guidance of the Project Administrator Team Lead and be responsible for the following :

  • Accountable for stakeholder satisfaction and managing their expectations
  • Accountable for effective collaboration and communication with and between stakeholders
  • Accountable for project cost control
  • Assist Project Managers Manages overseeing projects from beginning to project closure
  • Assist in variation and scope management and claims
  • Assist in project “hand over”:
  • Assist in creating the project plan and executing the project
  • Assist in creating a full chain schedule (sharing the plan)
  • Assist in getting stakeholder approvals where required
  • Assists in material control and inventory and takes care of the claim analysis
  • Assists in subcontractor qualification, evaluation and selection
  • Assists in negotiations for sub-contractor scope, terms and rates, instigates purchase orders and certifies bills

Project Management Specific to Major Projects

  • Assists in the creation of a project safety plan, quality plan, labour plan and logistics plan.
  • Assists in achieving the project’s financial result.
  • Triggers invoice and collection process on time.
  • Assists in ensuring a successful Project Start-Up meeting.
  • Assists in monthly project reviews, project audits, handovers and final closure.
  • To use KONE project management communication tools.

Skills, Education and Experience:

The Project Administrator should have the following skills and experience

Experience with Construction Project Management

Bachelors Degree from an accredited college or university with an emphasis in engineering is an asset.

General Project Management methodology and tool knowledge

Certified PMI project manager or agreed equivalent
