Job Title: Area Sales Manager – Canada

Position operates as sales representative of a premiere manufacturer of Industrial Power Tools. This position will work in an assigned territory and establish relationships with distributor associates and commercial/large housing complex builder teams to increase sales. The position plans and measures the growth and improvement of accounts through product knowledge training /demonstration and support.

Preferred candidates should have vendor sales experience in a Pro Channel environment

Responsibilities:

  • Drive sales through the major construction companies in the assigned market by building partnerships with the biggest end users and distributors across all trades.
  • Maintain customer relations representing vendor products and perform sales and support services in distributors
  • Meet or exceed targeted sales quotas
  • Work independently, manage the territory and your time effectively, multi-task and problem solve
  • Support and provide product knowledge on construction sites and in distributors by demonstrating equipment
  • Attend and represent customer at trade / industry shows and training sessions as required.
  • Provide excellent customer service to customers, associates and consumers
  • Provide training on new product features, selling tips to help close sales and receiving customer feedback regarding vendor products and services
  • Assist with placing special orders
  • Resolve any customer and vendor differences
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to identify new sales opportunities
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Minimum Requirements:

  • Travel required which includes overnight stays
  • Proven sales skills, with a track record of success meeting or exceeding quotas
  • Ability to work varied hours/days as business dictates (weekends may be required)
  • Basic computer proficiency and knowledge of software reporting programs is required
  • Must be Microsoft Office proficient
  • Excellent communication, presentation and written and skills required
  • Mechanical ability and technical knowledge preferred
  • Provide a valid driver’s license and proof of insurance (must meet company’s minimum requirements)
  • Provide excellent customer service to customers and vendors
  • HS diploma or equivalent required, college degree preferred
  • Required to lift up to 50lbs, this may include lifting weight above shoulders as needed
  • Frequent standing, bending and twisting required
  • Preferred candidates should have vendor sales experience in a Pro Channel environment
  • Construction industry experience highly preferred
  • 2 years of vendor sales experience preferred
  • Bilingual speaking a plus
