Purpose

Contributes to the oversight and strategic design of omni-channel technologies in IB Consumer & Small Business to deliver great customer experience and distribution excellence while supporting the business strategies, plans and initiatives are executed / delivered in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.

The incumbent acts as a Product Owner and manages the design and deployment front-line tools and solutions across our international markets for consumer and small business segments. As a Product Owner, she or he manages the definition, design, implementation and operational integrity of the enterprise wide Consumer and Small Business technologies, depending on the area of specialization (but not limited): Customer Relationship Management (CRM) technology (iCRM, Sales Platform), Automated and Intelligent Deposit Machines (ATM/IDMs) and campaign management technology. The incumbent will work in close partnership with teams in Consumer Analytics, Digital Banking, Global Banking Technology, Global Operations, local business lines and the rest of the Consumer & Small Business team to identify, define and build innovative technology solutions for customers to deepen their engagement with Scotiabank products.

Accountabilities

  • Leads user led design sessions with front line users to ensure product design is reflective of the needs of the user
  • Participates in the co-creation and management of the Consumer & Small Business distribution technology roadmap across our international markets
  • Work collaboratively with key stakeholders (such as: Consumer Analytics, Digital Banking, Global Operations, Global Business Technology, local business and technology teams, etc.) to define the technology roadmap required to build meet customer experience, increase sales while reducing cost to serve
  • Manage execution roadmaps and escalate any issues to Director or VP as required
  • Defines and leads change management framework to assist in the implementation and adoption of any new technologies / functionalities deployed.
  • Champions an agile work flow and design led processes
  • Manages the delivery of Consumer and Small Business technologies, depending on the area of specialization (but not limited): Customer Relationship Management (CRM) technology (Sales Platform), and campaign management technology Sales Platform CRM product
  • In partnership with the IB Consumer & Small Business PMO, the Senior Manager leads the overall delivery of the Product/Technology including accountability for meeting timelines and budget.
  • Works with relevant teams to ensure that requirements and user stories are properly documented and prioritized in the backlog.
  • Works with Technology, the PMO and local country teams to plan release strategy and schedules that aligns with other enterprise strategies
  • Participates in implementation activities from the business side including assessment and prioritization of critical functionality PLOGs, business user testing, deployment of business resources on the ground to support implementation in order to build and deliver an industry-leading customer experience
  • Responds to changing technology thinking and processes to best deliver the divisional product
  • Work with Technology to adapt work processes and methods to incorporate new thinking including value assurance and agile methodologies
  • Work with the PMO to plan and redeploy resources to align with changing approaches
  • Participates in agile scrum teams as necessary

Requirements & Qualifications:

  • 5+ years’ experience as a Product Owner
  • Knowledge of user led design frameworks (design thinking)
  • Knowledge of digital and experience deploying digital solutions in a fast-changing environment that drive P&L
  • Knowledge of distribution excellence, sales & services and sales management practices
  • Experience building and deploying complex technology solutions
  • Experience leading projects in a highly cross-functional, cross-cultural environment
  • Knowledge of financial services technologies and best practices
  • Strong analytical skills with a data driven approach to decision making
  • Strong knowledge with human-centered design and understanding of journeys and user workflows
  • Strong knowledge of other consumer and small business technologies including origination, core bank, risk and other systems
  • Demonstrated leadership, collaboration, presentation skills and the ability to influence senior executives
