Job Purpose:

The technician will be performing installations and service operations for advanced technology products in Western Canada.

The technician will also work with our customers and territory managers to resolve issues and applying solutions.

Job Duties:

Installation and Configuration of Topcon’s complete line of advanced ophthalmic equipment and software platforms.

Providing support on incoming enquiries related to Advanced technology products from customers and territory managers. Providing thorough problem determination, resolve issues on a timely basis to meet customer expectations/service levels.

Performing PDI on Advanced technology products before delivery to client.

Repair/Calibration of Advanced technology products at the customer premise or in shop

Document and issue tracking in our Field Service Management Software.

Provide backup support to our conventional equipment support team.

Job Requirements:

Post-secondary education in Electronic, Biomedical Engineering or related program;

Preferably, 3 to 5 years of experience

Experience in customer support desired.

Knowledge of health & safety practices and regulations.

Ability to work with precision instruments;

Able to read and apply schematics, blueprints and diagrams

Superior analytical skills demonstrating strong troubleshooting skills and problem analysis;

Able to use hand tools, meters, analysers and oscilloscopes

Knowledge of Healthcare industry software/interface standards Dicom, HL7, EMR, PACS.

Software configurations, network configurations, serial communications, command line, batch scripting and XML configurations.

Windows and Windows Server, MS Office generations, MS SQL Server, IIS, Apache.

Capable of great meticulousness, versatility, patience and autonomy;

Demonstrated ability to deal effectively with customers;

Strong teamwork attitude;

Aptitude for learning new ideas/concepts and applying knowledge, desire to learn;

Ability to manage conflicting priorities, attention to detail, self-motivated and organized;

Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal skills;

Knowledge of optics principles is an asset;

Must have flexibility to work for several days in the field, provide after hours and weekend support as required

Must have a valid driver’s license and good driving record
