The Role…
The Advisor will lead and manage the implementation of the Continuous Improvement Program (CIP) and Business Process Management (BPM) within the Human Services Department aligned to the Human Services Plan strategic objectives and Term of Council Priorities.
This position will also provide expertise supporting the capability and effectiveness of the Human Services processes, including analysis, interpretation and development in accordance with legislative and operational requirements.
The position will work collaboratively with leadership, process owners and staff to develop, cultivate and strengthen departmental capacity for business process management, continuous improvement and innovation. The role will provide strategic and technical advice supporting client-centered services and improvements to service delivery across core processes.
The incumbent will lead and/or coach others to facilitate process improvement initiatives, including the establishment of quality measures, identification of areas for improvement, and the introduction and use of process improvement tools and techniques
Qualifications:
- Requires a university degree in a related discipline such as business, public administration, applied statistics or mathematics, combined with quality management knowledge and a minimum of 5 years related experience developing business process models, and facilitating process improvement initiatives
- Process certification at a senior level in the field of Quality or Business Process Improvement by a recognized institution (i.e. American Society for Quality, Six Sigma etc.)
- Lean six sigma black belt certification is preferred
- Expert knowledge and experience applying Business Process Management, improvement methods and tools
- Strong quantitative and analytical skills with sound knowledge of applied statistics
- Strong understanding of database structure, management and usage
- Ability to create and interpret graphical display of data combined with an ability to express complex concepts effectively
- Experience working with various types of data and related analysis to support quality improvement
- Strong collaborative, consultative leadership style with a demonstrated ability to influence without direct authority and superior skills to be able to negotiate and persuade stakeholders to achieve buy-in
- Experience working within a project environment with sound knowledge of project management methods and practices is required
- Excellent strategic, analytical, and problem solving abilities combined with demonstrated judgment, tact and diplomacy skills
- Firm knowledge of the public sector and associated challenges working in a multi-stakeholder cross-jurisdictional government environment
- Experience with performance measurement and research methodologies
- Strong communication skills to engage in sensitive communication with internal and external stakeholders
- Proven ability in applying organizational change management principles and methodologies
- Knowledge of the Human Services industry is an asset
- Knowledge of applicable laws, legislation, compliance programs and risk management is an asset
- Experience as a people leader/manager is an asset

Location: Due to Covid-19, some of our offices are working at limited capacity to protect the health and safety of our employees, clients and community. As such, this position will be required to work remotely for an undetermined period. Once working onsite, you will report to 10 Peel Centre Drive, Brampton.

Hours: 8:30am-4:30pm; Monday-Friday
