Position Summary

The selected candidate will be responsible for providing operational support of multiple APM tools and driving migration of existing application components between different Application Performance platforms.

  • APM Engineer will provide overall administration in supporting a very large distributed clustered APM environment.
  • Migrate application performance monitoring (APM) of application and infrastructure components from AppDynamics to Dynatrace
  • This role will work closely with architect and partner support team, engineering and operations leads. Provide analysis and implementation support for development team for new capabilities. Improve system efficiency and stability via the development of automation tools and scripts. Supports troubleshooting of monitoring tool related problems.
  • Develop or lead development of architecture artifacts to support technical solutions, to include:
  • Capture or design current or desired business
  • Capture and model the automated transfer of information between systems.
  • Capture and model various enterprise system and network connections.
  • Integrate and model current or desired business capabilities into the architecture solution.
  • Ensure architecture framework compliance

Qualifications

· Minimum of 5 Years of experience supporting App Dynamics, Dynatrace or another major APM technology

· Application and systems performance management, measurement and analysis.

· Knowledge on various monitoring tools like Sitescope, BPM, BMC TSCO

· Deployment and configuration of complex enterprise software

· Solid understanding of Operating Systems (Linux/Windows)

· Strong understanding of built in O/S monitoring and performance tools.

· Working with a wide variety of platforms and application stacks. Ability to understand new application frameworks in customer environments quickly

· Experience with multiple platform environments

· Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate across teams in different time zones

· Ability to document installation procedures, Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), etc.

· Strong Self-starter and motivated

· Experience with ITSM Remedy and manage Incidents, Changes in large enterprise environment within defined Service Level Agreements.

Desired Skills

· Strong UNIX, Linux, Wintel, Perl/Shell/Python scripting

· Proficiency in system, network, security and database operations, protocols, and industry standard technologies.
