Application Developer & Product Administrator (Senior Java / SQL Developer)

Role Profile

Under the direction of the Manager, Enterprise Solutions, the Application Developer & Product Administrator will provide support and services related to the development and support of integrations or web services between the various ERP systems and on-premise and cloud-based third party applications. This is accomplished through research, analysis, collaboration, and service excellence throughout the development lifecycle and requires programming of the highest caliber addressing the greatest complexity and technical difficulty within the college.

We are looking for a highly skilled back-end Java / SQL developer who can design, develop and support complex integrations using Java, Web Services, and/or orchestration systems to build integrations between ERP systems and numerous third-party applications, both on premise and in the cloud.

Key Responsibilities Include

  • Translate user requirements into technical recommendations and solutions.
  • Code technical solutions using Java and/or Oracle PL/SQL and other integration software.
  • Create interfaces to third party solutions.
  • Initiate, develop and maintain relationships with functional subject matter experts to assist with the validation of the solutions that have been developed.
  • Provide support for production issues.

Minimum Qualifications

Education

  • 4-year degree in Computer Sciences, Mathematics, or a related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Experience

  • Minimum of 8 years development experience in the delivery of business application and integration/web service solutions in a large, complex organization.
  • Has had a strong focus on back-end systems development with Java and related technologies.
  • Demonstrated ability to work efficiently with minimal supervision, communicate technical information effectively with IT and functional users, coordinate several projects simultaneously.
  • Experience includes performing requirements gathering, preparing use/test cases for unit testing, conducting user training, and maintaining high technical standards.

Skills

  • Extensive technical expertise is required with Java/J2EE and SQL or Oracle PL/SQL with working level experience with any of the following: JavaScript, Spring, Rest, JMS/RabbitMQ or similar message queueing system, and/or Jenkins CI.
  • Working level experience with any of the following is desirable: HTML 5, Maven, Bitbucket or GIT, and AWS technologies.
  • In addition, the incumbent must have demonstrated success working in teams.
  • Additional skills include superior customer service and communication skills, exceptional organizational skills, ability to provide clear written and verbal direction, detailed oriented, critical, and out of box thinking, and analytical problem-solving skills.
  • Working experience in Oracle HCM with HR business processes and technical support will be an advantage.

Occasional evening and weekend overtime may be required to meet demands of corporate deadlines.
