Aecon is currently seeking an Assistant Construction Manager – Track to join the Finch West LRT Project- a transformative transit infrastructure system for the Toronto Area.The Assistant Construction Manager – Track will be responsible for management and execution of the construction and installation activities within time and budgetary constraints, and working in compliance with Health & Safety, Quality, Environmental Plans, and regulatory requirements applicable to the Project.
Key Responsibilties
- Report on all construction progress, technical and commercial issues related to track construction/installation on the project.
- Identify potential problem areas and risks as they arise and develop and implement mitigation actions if and as required.
- Coordinate the preparation of schedule projections for construction activities per contract requirements
- Lead the interface coordination efforts with other contractors as required for timely completion of the project
- Provide constructability reviews of plans and specifications to evaluate scheduled activities and staffing requirements for each phase of construction, and coordinate the availability of requisite equipment
- Monitor work in progress to ensure that work is executed in compliance with the requirements of the contract and schedule
- In cooperation with the Project Control team, assist in monitoring and control of project budget
- Provide support to coordinate, direct and monitor activities of contractors/subcontractors.
- Provide support on subcontractor management.
Required Knowledge and Experience
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in concrete construction.
- Experience with P3 Projects desired. Experience in Design and build required.
- Experience working with construction activities on or near major roadways
- Experience with Light Rail projects preferred
- Knowledge of Scheduling software such as MS Project
