Job description: We are looking for an Assistive Technology Assistant who supports the Assistant Director of Assistive Technology. The Assistive Technology Assistant supports/assists the Assistant Director of Assistive Technology by carrying out both administrative and direct support task. Particularly in relation to data and technology management. JOB TITLE: ASSISTIVE TECHNOLOY ASSISTANT | #1453
SERVICE AREA: Assistive Technology
LOCATION: Head office
START DATE: As soon as possible
TERM/STATUS: Permanent Full Time
SCHEDULE/HRS: Monday to Friday 8:30-16:00 // 37.5 hours per week
HOURLY WAGE: TBD
REQUIREMENTS:
Education – Required
- University degree in related discipline with training in technology
Experience – Required
- Work experience related to Job Responsibilities
- Two years of administrative experience
- Experience with iPad technology
- Experience using assistive communication programs (Boardmaker,
- TouchChat, Proloquo2Go)
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, mental
- health disorders, or other disabilities
Experience – Preferred
- Experience with organizational systems set-up and maintenance
- Experience with innovation and adaptive technology
Skills/Abilities -Required
- Proficient in MS Office Suite, accurate typing skills, 60 wpm
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Effective in organization and planning skills
- Proficiency working with a variety of office equipment
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Ability to learn and quickly adapt to new technologies
- Ability to work with a range of families, staff, and individuals
- Experience developing online training programs
- Experience working with technology supplies and software research
