Job description: Adecco is currently hiring for a temporary full-time, Associate Engineer position in Ottawa ON to work for our client, a medical device manufacturer who is dedicated to advancing diagnostic technology to improve patient care. As a member of the Component Engineering team, you will contribute to the team’s success by ensuring supply of components to manufacturing operations. As a member of Cartridge Assembly Engineering, you will contribute to the team’s success by supporting manufacturing operations, to ensure optimal product performance and yield. * Location: Ottawa, ON

  • Availability Required: Monday-Friday

Responsibilities: * The primary focus of this position is manufacturing sustenance. Some project work however will be assigned.

  • Investigate product and process problems
  • Implement changes and develop documentation and reactions schemes.
  • There will be a strong involvement with investigations of non-conformance reports (NCR) and documentation of findings and dispositions in the Exception Reports (ER).
  • There will be a mixture of process sustaining and project work, but the primary focus will be on sustaining production and the quality system.
  • Perform qualifications of components
  • Perform root cause analysis on non-conforming components through the CAPA process
  • Work with external suppliers to ensure no interruptions in supply of components to manufacturing operations

Requirements: * Proven technical, creative, teamwork and implementation skills to contribute to product manufacturability and performance.

  • Strong writing skills are mandatory.
  • Excellent problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Experience with any of the following areas would be an asset: data analysis, experimental design, statistical process control, ISO/FDA regulations, risk management/FMEA methods, CAPA system.
  • A Bachelor’s Degree (Engineering, Science, or related discipline)
  • 0 to 3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment would be considered an asset.
