Job Description – Associate, Information Technology Lawyer

Due to continued expansion, our client is seeking an Associate, Information Technology with two to six years of relevant experience to join its team in Toronto. The successful candidate will practise solely in its growing IT group. Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills are essential.

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities

  • Assist entrepreneurs and start-up companies on a variety of IT matters, including large systems implementations, outsourcing arrangements, licensing, software development, and technology-related acquisitions, dispositions and financings.
  • Provide support to senior counsel and ensure that deadlines are met.
  • Participate in and support business development activities, including client relationship management.

Education and Professional Skills/Knowledge

  • LL.B. or J.D. degree (or equivalent).
  • Good standing with a Canadian Law Society.
  • 2-6 years of corporate law experience with an interest in technology law.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
