An opportunity to ensure the end-to-end delivery of design/construction fit-up projects, on time and on budget, while meeting corporate and client expectations.
Self-motivated, proactive and highly deadline-oriented, you have a history of success as a junior project manager or project coordinator, known for building successful client relationships. Most especially, you are recognized for your ability to manage project tasks and activities, including scheduling and administering stakeholder meetings with consultants and contractors, track ongoing deliverables, liaise regularly with clients and other stakeholders to keep them updated on project status, and consistently deliver timely, quality, on-budget results. Reporting to the Senior Project Manager of ICT projects, you will be responsible for the effective planning, developing, delivering, and reporting on assigned project tasks within scope, schedule and budget, and in line with corporate and client procedural boundaries. You will be responsible for supporting the project management, reporting and day-to-day administration of a large retro-fit project valued at $100M+ for a prestigious public-sector client.
KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Your primary role as an Associate Project Manager will encompass a wide variety of duties. Specifically, you will:
- Directly responsible for supporting the delivery of IT Communications, Audio/Visual, and Security projects from inception to completion, including stakeholder management, document management, changes in scope, scheduling, cost control, quality management, risk management, procurement, commissioning, and occupancy. This role will focus on supporting the delivery of, but not limited to: Telecommunication LAN Rooms, IT Cabling Pathways and Infrastructure, Data Centers, Physical Security and Electronic Security Systems, and Audio/Visual & Video Teleconferencing Systems.
- Plan and coordinate projects to maximize beneficial use by clients while minimizing disruptions to clients and/or occupants.
- Coordinate with facility management forces to ensure the best solution and optimum turnover of the project.
- Carrying out tours and visits to construction sites and report on observations.
- Develop and maintain effective relationships with clients and vendors.
- Monitors work progress to ensure completion.
KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS
To be up to the exciting challenges of this Associate Project Manager role, you must have a professional profile that includes:
- University degree in engineering or equivalent relevant discipline with 1-3 years of project coordination; or 5 to 7 years of project coordination work experience with Community college diploma in a relevant discipline such as Engineering Technology, or equivalent training.
- Strong organizational, documentation, and project management skills.
- Self-motivation and proactive approach.
- Effective client management, interpersonal, and verbal and written communication skills.
- Specific experience and skills related to – IT Networking and Cabling, Security Systems, A/V Systems, Facility Infrastructures, New Construction, Engineering, government sector, etc.
- Knowledge of construction management, depending on assignment.
- Problem-solving and conflict management skills.
- Knowledge and experience with respect to industry standards and regulations.
- Software proficiencies depending on assignment, e.g., MS Excel, MS Outlook, MS Project along with ability to quickly learn new applications
ASSETS:
- Bilingualism (English and French).
- Secret Clearance. (The successful candidate will be required to complete Secret Security Clearance)
Licenses and/or Professional Accreditation
One or more of the following would be considered an asset:
- Project Management Institute Accreditation or in progress.
