Job Description

We are presently recruiting for a Associate within the Technology & Data (T&D) Business Management Office.

In this role, you will be accountable for proactive cost management of the data expense line, management reporting around market data spend, forecasting and business planning, as well as preparing monthly metrics on various measures. You will develop an understanding of our global investment data and build relationships with our internal business partners through regular interaction and discussions around the market data we are procuring. You will also support monthly Opex and headcount reporting for select T&D departments.

The Opportunity:

  • Conduct deep dive analysis around spend trends and variances, provide value-add intelligence around spend drivers and variances through commentary, drive efficiencies in the expense reporting and analysis process and present spend reporting results to business management and/or executives
  • Lead and coordinate the quarterly forecasting and annual budgeting process for market data across all business groups
  • Interact with and develop partnerships with Business and Investment Managers around the data we are procuring
  • Partner with our external vendor MDSL to support our management of the Market Data Management (MDM) solution from a dashboard and reporting perspective
  • Ensure financial data in MDM reconciles to the corporate GL
  • Manage and promote self-service spend dashboards, continually assessing current reporting processes and recommend appropriate enhancements to improve or adapt to changing business requirements
  • Work with the Market Data Solutions team on proactively identifying cost optimization opportunities for presentation to business partners
  • Provide monthly Opex and headcount reporting for select T&D departments
  • Perform ad-hoc financial management analysis as required by T&D management
  • Identify and develop processes that drive efficiency and effectiveness for the team

Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree in accounting, finance, business or equivalent, with a professional accounting designation.
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in a similar role
  • CPA designation is required
  • An extensive understanding and substantial knowledge of corporate finance concepts and FP&A best practices, including modeling, budgeting, forecasting, and KPI tracking
  • Demonstrated experience and knowledge of accounting and budgeting concepts
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office particularly in Excel
  • Demonstrated ability to succeed in a high performing culture, open to and comfortable with evolving changes and new challenges.
