We are looking for an AVP, Security Technology

Given the size and scope of our organization, we have the flexibility for this position to be located anywhere in Canada provided candidates can operate on EST core business hours. Periodic travel will be required post-pandemic.

The AVP Security Technology will lead and manage an area which has in-depth knowledge of the security technologies that underlie and interconnect to provide comprehensive end-to-end information security protection for the business.

The AVP Security Technology also delivers Identity and Access Management capabilities including leading delivery of a multi-year IAM technology deployment.

The role also coordinates with Business Continuity to ensure that Information Security solutions remain active and effective in the event of unplanned outages. This area manages the contracts with the various technology vendors for the security services under their accountability and is responsible for managing and monitoring Level 1, 2, and 3 support for those technologies in addition to monitoring upstream and downstream resource consumption to ensure that Information Security services are engaged and used as intended. This area has 7/24 responsibility for services under their accountability.

The AVP, Security Technology is a First Line of Defense role and reports to the VP, Technology Risk and CISO.

What you will do

• Provides leadership and direction for the company to advance Information Security technology and it’s supporting operations
• Partners with leaders to develop business cases for the introduction, or expansion of information security services
• Partners with the Project Management Office, Procurement, Engineering and other stakeholders to acquire and deploy new capabiliyies
• Develop and implement sound overall multiyear plans and annual tactical plans to achieve desired business goals related to Information Security governance
• Develop and implement service systems to ensure effective identification and delivery of Information Security operations, services and solutions.
• Develops and delivers an sourcing and automation strategies for security technology.
• Drives forward thinking as related to continual improvement and cost optimization.
• Ensures the development, testing, and measurement for effectiveness of controls embedded in the security technology operations
• Ensures effective control strategies, processes, and technologies (SPTs) that reduce the susceptibility (vulnerability) of an information environment to attack. These SPTs protect information whether in storage, transit, use, administration, or disposal.
• Ensures ongoing education and awareness as to IAM and security services across the enterprise as to ensure ongoing adherence and compliance.

What you will bring

• 5-10 years of management experience in the financial services industry
• 5-10 years of experience in operational security related senior leadership positions
• 5-10 years of experience in identity and access security related senior leadership positions
• In-depth understanding of information technology service management and delivery methods
• Strong knowledge and experience with User provisioning; Entitlement review and certification; Entitlement management; Enterprise directory services; Role Based Access Control; Single sign on; Identity federation; and/or Privileged access management.
• Strong operational aptitude
• Analytical of highly complex situations
• Strong ability to vision and lead systematizing and operationalizing work
• Continual pursual of improvement and cost-effective operations
• Highly effective teaming and collaboration skills
