Job title: AZ Driver/ Environmental Driver Technician

Job description: Drivers are at the heart of US Ecology’s business. They are highly skilled and trained technicians who safely transport and handle nonhazardous and hazardous waste MTO, DOT & HAZMAT regulations. US Ecology drivers spend between 70-75% of their time behind the wheel. The rest of their time is spent working at a site.

AZ Driver (Environmental Driver Technician):

  • Check-in with the Transportation Supervisor daily
  • Run a variety of equipment such as roll-offs, vacuum tankers, dumps, vans, and box trucks
  • Navigate the Southwestern Ontario corridor on a daily basis
  • Local Drivers are home nightly with an occasional overnight (company paid)
  • Run-until-done days are between 8-14 hours
  • 3 week on-call rotations (1 week on 2 weeks off)
  • Maintain vehicle log and documentation
  • You will be trained to build manifests and properly placard truck
  • Load and unload materials at storage or recycling center

Driver Requirements:

  • Class A license, with airbrake (Z) endorsements
  • Good driving record with less than 3 violations in the last 3 years
  • Basic knowledge & ability to use smart phones and computers an asset
  • The ability to cross the border to the United States an asset
  • FAST card considered an asset or the ability to obtain with company support upon hire
  • Ability to pass pre-employment background checks, and drug screening
