Enterprise Technology & Services (ETS) delivers shared technology services for the Firm supporting all business applications and end users. ETS provides capabilities for all stages of the Firm’s software development lifecycle, enabling productive coding, functional and integration testing, application releases, and ongoing monitoring and support for over 3,000 production applications.

ETS also delivers all workplace technologies (desktop, mobile, voice, video, productivity, intranet/internet) in integrated configurations that boost the personal productivity of our employees. Application and end user services are delivered on a scalable, secure, and reliable infrastructure composed of seamlessly integrated datacenter, network, compute, cloud, storage, and database services.

Position Description:

The Public Cloud Transformation Services (PCTS) team is responsible for accelerating public cloud adoption throughout Morgan Stanley. This is a global, multi-discipline team responsible for architecting and delivering secure, robust, and innovative solutions which enable development teams to build and deploy new applications as well as migrate select existing applications into the public cloud.

This role is for a cloud engineering specialist who will focus on automating and onboarding services on Microsoft Azure. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of Microsoft Azure and experience building cloud service automations in support of application migrating to Azure.

Tasks and duties:

  • Deploying PaaS services on public cloud environments such as Azure/ AWS
  • Developing Infrastructure as Code using a language such as Terraform/ Ansible
  • Deploying Infrastructure as Code on public cloud to create resources
  • Configuring public cloud services to meet non-functional requirements such as security, observability, resiliency
  • Troubleshooting public cloud service deployment and connectivity
  • Creating repeatable processes and Infrastructure as Code for improving developer productivity
  • Managing the deployment of changes to production environments

Qualifications

Skill Required:

  • Experience with Azure Landing Zones
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform and ARM
  • Experience building security controls and assurance with Azure Policy and related tools
  • Demonstrated experience working within an Agile/DevOps environment
  • Good understanding of cloud security controls and frameworks
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a global organization and across time zones.
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts effectively, both written and orally, to diverse audiences.

Nice to have:

  • Experience setting up and using CI/CD, especially with Azure DevOps.
  • Engineering experience with Linux and Windows platforms.
  • Knowledge, awareness and contributions to open source projects is a plus.

Education: Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Computer Science/ Telecommunications/ Networking or related field

Experience: 3+ years of work experience in software development and/ or deploying infrastructure for use on public cloud

Salary range: $90,000 – $120,000

The primary location is at 111 Robert-Bourassa, Montreal QC H3C 2M1, Canada. Remote work available during pandemic-related closures.
