Job description: We currently have an opening for a CAD Technologist / Civil Engineering Technologist in our Niagara-on-the-Lake office – and will collaborate with staff and deliver projects across Ontario and Canada. The successful candidate will have 1+ years of experience.

Responsibilities include the following:

• Preparation of project drawings using AutoCAD including structural drawings, related drawings, and details for structural projects, under the guidance of Professional Engineers and Designers.
• Performing occasional field work including site inspection and surveys.
• Preparing contract specifications.
• Delivering production work in accordance with company technical and operating procedures.
• Providing support with respect to a range of activities including both technical and non-technical tasks related to engineering design and construction.
• Engaging in a collaborative work environment with your team, as well as other disciplines and offices.
• Performing other duties as required by Supervisor.
• Delivering projects and tasks on budget and within identified schedules.
• Providing support to other members of the team.
• Complying and working within COR certified environment and performing all duties in accordance with those specified under the Occupational Health & Safety Act and applicable legislation.

Job Requirements

About You

• Minimum completion of diploma in Engineering Technology from an accredited post-secondary institution.
• 1+ year of progressive structural design experience in Ontario, considered an asset.
• Demonstrated experience with latest version of AutoCAD.
• Experience with Civil 3D and Microstation, is an asset.
• Familiarity with applicable local design codes, is an asset.
• Experience with technical specification development and report writing, is an asset.
• Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office suite of software.
• Experience working for a consulting engineering firm, is an asset.
• Developing analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Committed team player and ability to work independently.
• Ability to travel within Ontario.
