Job description: Regehr Family Dental is a new and innovative dental practice launching in Vernon, British Columbia (BC), by Dr. Brydan Regehr, in September, 2021. Brydan was raised in Vernon, BC, and has spent time working in both rural and diverse communities across Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Alberta, and Northern BC. He is excited to be returning home to bring his skills, dedication, and commitment to his patients to the Vernon area, building a clinic team that shares his positivity, work ethic, and desire to build a family-oriented practice.

Our clinic will be the first dental clinic in Vernon to meet the Canadian Standards Association Airborne Infection Isolations standards, creating hospital-grade air quality to optimize infection control for patients and staff alike. Our clinic approach is also unique, with a focus on preventative and pain-free dentistry, offering a full spectrum of general dentistry services to all age groups.

We are currently recruiting a full-time and part time dental assistant to join our team. Previous experience working in a dental clinic is ideal, but experience working in a relevant clinical or office environment will also set a successful applicant apart. The following skills and qualifications will be considered in reviewing applications for this position:

● Above all, strong communication, professionalism, and interpersonal skills

● Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced environment

● Ability to work in a team environment, able to maintain independent responsibilities

● Familiarity with clinical Electronic Medical Record programs and/or dental softwares

● Clinical background and/or administrative experience

● Experience chairside assisting

● Training as a Certified Dental Assistant (CDA) will be considered an asset

Job responsibilities:

● Greeting patients inviting them into operatories

● Cleaning operatories

● Cleaning, sterilizing instruments, operating sterilization equipment

● Setting up and breaking down operating rooms, for a variety of procedures including

operative, endodontic, oral surgery, orthodontic and when hygiene procedures.

● Assisting in above mentioned procedures

● Calming anxious patients

● Impressions (eventually digital as well)

● Radiography

● Restocking and reordering of supplies

Schedule:

● 8-hour shift

● Shift work, some evenings and weekends

Covid-19 Considerations:

● Virtual interview process over Zoom

● Personal protective equipment (PPE) will be provided in office

● Social distancing practices in place within the clinic

● Appropriate screening, sanitizing, and disinfecting procedures will be implemented and

strictly followed
