This is a hybrid remote/office opportunity.
Job Summary:
The Change & Release Coordinator develops, implements, and evolves BCLC’s Software Change and Release Management practices. The role establishes, approves and communicates change, release and deployment process, roles and responsibilities, policies and procedures; ensuring organizational compliance to change request and release standards and policies. As a subject matter expert, the Change & Release Coordinator acts as a consultant to internal and external stakeholders including agile, project and cross functional teams.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Identifies, assesses and develops solutions in order to evolve the BCLC’s change, release and deployment management policies and processes.
  • Ensures that all releases into the production environment are deemed “production ready” prior to release and that all risks are identified and communicated to the appropriate stakeholders.
  • Leads cross functional work teams such as the Change Advisory Board (CAB) and enforce corrective action for non-compliance of the change process. Convenes the CAB to address and provide solutions for emergency RFCs.
  • Works with project stakeholders to identify and resolve issues of quality and process non-compliance in terms of quality and process.
  • Monitors and controls the quality of deliverables according to the BCLC’s Change Management methodology best practice standards.
  • Identifies potential process and procedure opportunities and recommends continuous improvement initiatives. Ensures that changes are adequately reviewed, approved, and scheduled in a timely manner with proper documentation in place. Takes corrective action on issues of non-compliance in terms of quality and process.
  • Provides leadership and guidance to CAB and BT staff in order to maintain the integrity of BCLC’s systems through appropriate oversight of IT Service Management processes.
  • Works closely with internal and external stakeholders to drive the release planning process and define best practices to efficiently support major, minor, emergency, and off-cycle releases.
  • Develops and maintains the overall release plan and release calendar, including the coordination of releases into the production environment.

Minimum Required Qualifications:
Education and Experience

  • Post-secondary degree/diploma in a related discipline;
  • ITIL V3 Foundations or Practitioner certification, Asset and Configuration Management certification;
  • 3 to 5 years related progressively responsible quality assurance experience;
  • Experience with ITIL V3, specifically in the area of Change, Release and Deployment;
  • Experience with agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, Dev-ops);
  • Equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be considered.

Technical Requirements

  • Demonstrated experience in IT Change Management or Release planning;
  • Strong technical and process background including process knowledge of Software Development Life Cycles;
  • Extensive knowledge of quality assurance and quality control systems, infrastructures, processes, operations and risk management frameworks;
  • In depth knowledge of auditing methodologies and tools including risk assessments, controls and governance;
  • Exceptional communication (written, verbal and relationship management skills and the ability to engage at a senior executive level, and with key stakeholders in a constructive manner);
  • Strong strategic thinking and prioritization skills; Ability to respond to a high volume of work with multiple concurrent tasks.
  • Strong analytical skills including the ability to quickly identify potential issues and risks; Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail;
  • Systemic/holistic approach to problem solving;
  • Knowledge of the gaming industry would be an asset.
