Job description: Job Description Our client, one of the GTA’s most recognizable and iconic brands has engaged us to find their next CIO. In this role you will have direct oversight of the Information Technology division which is responsible for IT infrastructure, technology platforms and business applications that are built to enable efficient operation and to provide excellent customer service. Furthermore, the Information Technology division is responsible for ongoing infrastructure, technology platforms and applications improvements and a key contributor for innovation and digital business transformation.
Duties and Responsibilities:
– Attracts, retains and develops leaders and employees and promotes continuous learning and career development for all. Drives change and leadership best practices.
– Provides input and direction on future talent programs. Support Diversity Equity and Inclusion while establishing trust and transparency in a safe and productive work environment.
– Develop and continuously evolve an appropriate organizational structure that supports the needs of the business. Lead a collaborative software development approach that improves velocity, while maintaining a strong focus on both quality and scalability
– Provides leadership to the enterprise through transformation and optimization initiatives.
– Helps the organization grow revenue, optimize costs and mitigate risks. As part of the digital business leadership, is responsible for enabling digital business transformation to drive business model innovation.
– Identifies emerging information technologies to be analyzed, assimilated and integrated within the organization.
Qualifications:
– Ten or more years of experience in at least three disciplines, such as business, information, solution or technical architecture, application development, middleware, information analysis, database management or operations in a multitier environment
– Proven, effective, leadership skills. Creates an environment for employee
engagement, collaboration and team effectiveness.
– Practical in approach to problem solving and decision making.
– Identification and successful deployment of new IT technologies and development processes in a medium to large IT organization.
– Extensive knowledge of information management practices, system development life cycle management, IT services management, agile and lean methodologies, infrastructure and operations, and EA and ITIL frameworks.
– Knowledge of business models, operating models, financial models, cost-benefit analysis, budgeting and risk management.
– Extensive knowledge of business ecosystems, enterprise applications, IT
infrastructure, SaaS, IaaS, PaaS, SOA, APIs, microservices, event-driven IT and predictive analytics.
