JOB DESCRIPTION

Reporting to the Vice President of Infrastructure Development, the incumbent collects information to produce various plans and ensures that they are updated in the QPA’s computer system. He must also be able to conduct various GPS surveys on the Port of Québec’s territory. He assumes the following main responsibilities :

  • Produces various plans for the needs of the QPA in relation to the various infrastructures present on the territory of the Port of Québec by means of vector and/or raster data (ortho photos) ;
  • Responds to requests for information on water, communication, sewer and electricity networks, as well as on land use, using existing plans and archives ;
  • Performs utility locates with Info-Excavation and Port-owned private utilities with Promark-Telecon;
  • Conducting field data collection ;
  • Performs GPS field surveys for projects or to update QPA plans ;
  • Receives plans from external consultants, validates them and ensures their compliance with the drawing standards in effect at the QPA ;
  • Searches for information, as requested, on lots or property titles at the Land Registry Office using the Quebec Land Registry ;
  • Provides support to his/her supervisor and other team members ;
  • Contributes, through his attitude, to creating a work climate favourable to teamwork ;
  • Respects the rules of health and safety at work ;
  • Caries out all other related tasks.

CANDIDATE PROFIL

Requirements:

  • College degree in civil engineering technology, or equivalent ;
  • College degree certification in Civil engineering drawing, or equivalent, an asset ;
  • At least four (4) years of experience in a similar position ;
  • Proficiency in Bentley (Geographics, MicroStation, PowerMap) and Adobe Illustrator software, an asset;
  • Knowledge of SQL query language, database management systems (DBMS);
  • Knowledge of surveying instruments ;
  • Good command of oral and written French ;
  • Team player ;
  • Knowledge of the maritime environment, as asset.

A combination of education and/or relevant experience may be considered equivalent.
