Responsibilities
The Biomedical Engineering student will work under the general direction of the Foundation Project Lead. Provincially, this role will support Foundation and Auxiliary capital project initiatives and assist with planning, coordination, implementation, and reporting. Most projects will be medical equipment related but there can be the occasional infrastructure project that will need internal Facilities Management and Support (FM&S) coordination, involvement and follow up. This includes working closely with Clinical Engineering, care teams (Peri-op, Critical care, DI, Renal Dialysis, OBS, Urgent Care, etc.), IM/IT, FMS, One Patient One Experience Program (OPOE), Procurement, Finance teams to help develop plans for the initiation and operationalization of bio-medical systems and equipment. The Biomedical Engineering Student will participate in developing strategic and operational plans and processes to maintain effective project flow.
Qualifications
- Working towards a bachelor’s degree from an accredited engineering program.
- Experience in a clinical setting or working with biomedical technology is an asset.
- Experience in working with technical specifications is an asset.
- Excellent computer skills required, especially with computerized maintenance management systems, database applications, and quality assurance/risk management programs.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- High level of judgment and initiative required with strong problem-solving and trouble-shooting abilities.
- Must be fluent in report writing.
- Previous leadership and project management experience would be an asset.
- Demonstrated ability to create and maintain excellent customer service.
- Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred.

Hours of Work
Long Assignment Full-Time position; 75 hours bi-weekly.
Beginning January 4, 2022 with an expected end date of April 29, 2023.

Salary Information
$17.47-$21.47 Hourly.
